What Does It Mean, a Dream Client? 

On this website, we have a “Dream Client” section (link). To be honest, by explaining what kind of clients we dream about, we thought we would describe ourselves real fine. Together with what we're good at (link), it's all anybody needs to know about us. But then, it's just a wishlist. So we had a couple of questions for Dubravka, our Deputy CEO, to explain it a bit more. 

The text starts by admitting no one is perfect, and goes on about respect, genuine partnership, long term satisfaction, trust, ambition, having a purpose “that's not (just) about making money”... Dubravka, please cut the long story short for everyone - what does that actually mean for HOOLOOVOO, a dream client?

We want to work with clients who aim to be best in their fields. We want to help them get there, build their dreams. Ideally, they are bold and they have a clear vision, and they trust us to get them there through exploring new paths, rather than relying on old ways. We like a challenge, so the steeper, less familiar road - the more fun. But most of all, we want to work with clients who care. Because we care about every line of code and every person we work with. And we want to share that with our clients. 

Dubravka came to us after years in such diverse industries that the only common denominator would be that she likes to make things happen. Actually, help great people make things happen. She feels this describes her expertise much better than project management. Because it’s simple: whether you are making an encyclopaedia or an AI-based compliance tool, you need to understand the needs of the end user, create a team of brilliant people and give them what they need to work their magic (spoiler alert: what they need is very rarely meetings).

How does that care look in practice?

Partnership for us means the client and us working together every step of the way. It means that we are both engaged, straightforward, and trustworthy. We share the love for seriously good tech and AI-based solutions. We communicate equally open about successes and problems (yes, we don’t call them challenges). We are easy to work with but not casual about work, we are focused on high quality but not slow in delivering it, we are thorough in documenting but not bureaucratic. Also, we are not afraid to recognise when we have to hit the reset button and start over.

One example. If we spot a chance for improvement, get an idea that may make processes smoother or experience of users better, we would never ignore it. It can be a small thing whose impact will only be visible further down the line, or a bigger idea that requires significant work, but if we feel like there is no room in our communication with the client to bring it up, that cooperation is not in a good place. But if we are able to talk openly, maybe even get a shot at doing something with it... That is openness, sharing vision, trust, keeping the quality sky high, searching for best tailored solutions for each client. That is also what makes it fun - all at the same time.

Sounds too good. Can it be real?

We already have such relationships with our existing clients, especially with two big ones, both from Sweden. That's where our focus on Nordic countries comes from - we like the culture, the way of doing business. As an organization, we grew alongside Kindred Group. It is safe to say we learned a lot through that cooperation, and we hope at least a bit of the same can be said the other way around. Our image of the dream client is built on that. 

The steeper, less familiar road - the more fun. 

It was never about a dream client or a dream project. Obviously, we were talking about what we love, the kind of cooperation we enjoy. And we are well aware that if we want it to be and stay real, we need to be a “dream partner”. More about that - some other time, and of course, on our Promises (link) page.
